Primarily offering individualised mental health support for mothers and fathers from preconception through to early parenting years.
About Me
My name is Megan O’Neill and I’m a Clinical Psychologist and mother of two, currently practicing from Victoria Street Psychology.
After working with adults in Melbourne for a public area mental health service for five plus years, I returned to Ballarat and was based at a private practice in the area of perinatal mental health and parenting.
When I personally experienced pregnancy loss, I was unsure of where to seek support or who to see. It was overwhelming and confusing. Returning to practice after the birth and postpartum period with my daughter took on extra meaning and reaffirmed my passion for this area.
I aim to provide a safe and supportive space for you to come and speak about your personal experience and goals, while engaging in evidence-based psychological therapy. I look forward to supporting you to explore the many challenges associated with becoming a parent while also being present for the rewarding and enjoyable times.
Services
Mental health and well-being can be impacted at any stage of life, including when trying to start a family and becoming a parent. Whether you have a diagnosed mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety, develop symptoms during pregnancy or post-partum, or you are experiencing difficulties with infertility, perinatal loss or birth trauma, there is support available for you.
There are significant emotional, physical, hormonal and social transitions that occur upon becoming a mother or father. If you are struggling with the transition to parenthood, intense emotions or generally feel that your well-being could improve then please reach out.
Everyone’s circumstances are unique which means that all therapeutic interventions will be tailored to you. A general description of services that I offer, the referral options and fees are outlined in the services page.
