About

I am a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about supporting clients in the area of Perinatal Mental Health.

As a mother to two young children, I understand the complex challenges and transitions that can occur from pre-conception to parenting.

I aim to provide you with a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, where we can work together to identify what you are having difficulties with, what is most important to you and what you would like to be different.

Qualifications and Experience

I completed a Master of Clinical Psychology 10 years ago, working in several settings and across age groups from primary school aged children to older adults since that time.

I spent 5 years in Melbourne working with adults engaged with an Area Mental Health Service who were often very unwell. I was able to walk alongside some of the most resilient and strong people I have met, providing a caring and non-judgemental space throughout some of their hardest moments.

Following my own experience with perinatal loss and birth trauma, I hoped to one day be able to provide others with psychological support in such a vulnerable period of their life. This opportunity arose when I returned home to Ballarat and worked in a Private Practice with a focus on perinatal mental health and parenting. It was a privilege to see the progress that these mothers and fathers made.

I am an Australian Psychology Board Approved Supervisor and a member of the Antenatal and Postnatal Psychology Network.

Therapeutic Approach

As each person I work with has their own set of beliefs, values and life experiences, I pride myself on adapting my approach to be the most appropriate for them. I always practice from a position of integrity and providing non-judgmental care.

I generally practice from the therapeutic frameworks of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy. The treatment plan in informed by a holistic assessment and therapeutic interventions are adapted to the specifics for the individual.

I engage in regular Professional Development to continue to enhance my skills and ensure I am up to date with the most recent evidence-base.
